HELPS MINISTRY
Scripture Reading - 2 Timothy 2:22-25
22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; KJV
In the verses mentioned above Paul admonishes us to follow righteousness, faith, God’s Love and peace among the saints. This is interesting because it brings out the point that even among the saints, or we could say in the church, we will have to pursue peace. Yes, while serving in the local church we will encounter a lot of new comers and traditional church people. Sometimes they will be touchy about the way your particular church operates. Always remember to be courteous to them, if someone complains seek peace at all cost because strife is too costly a price for the church to pay. Any person serving as part of the church is in the Helps Ministry, as a helps minister we must support the church staff and the Pastor even in those decisions we don’t understand. Whenever we seek peace we are pleasing our Heavenly Father and allowing Jesus to truly be our Lord, and this act of submission strengthens the whole foundation of the Church of God, where Jesus is our Lord. Amen!
